The quiet neighborhood of Pocket sits adjacent to the community of Greenhaven in the southwestern area of Sacramento. Centrally located near Interstate 5, Pocket (also known as The Pocket) gets its name from its proximity to a semi-circular “pocket” bend in the Sacramento River.

Pocket consists of many enclaves, branching off Pocket Road, a quiet thoroughfare defining the area. Neighborhoods range from middle class homes to posh gated communities. More upscale homes can be found along the river and are an enviable area due to its docks and water access. One of the most prestigious, private neighborhoods along the river is Riverlake.

A number of parks are nestled throughout the area, including Marriott Park, Charter Point Park, Shore Park, and Garcia Bend Park, with a boat ramp, soccer field, tennis courts, and play area. The Pocket is primarily a residential area, with shopping centers, restaurants, coffee shops, and gyms skirting the area.

The Little Pocket Neighborhood Association’s boundaries are Piedmont Drive to the North, 35th Street and Riverside to the South, Interstate 5 on the East, and the Sacramento River to the West.
